Description

The Maritime University of Szczecin offers a Transport programme delivered in English. The studies last for 1.5 years, divided into three semesters, and includes one specialisation in Intelligent Transportation Systems. Graduates of this field of study are awarded the degree of Magister Inżynier (corresponding to Master of Engineering) and are specialists in modern cargo transport, operation of integrated transport terminals and logistic centres, as well as the organisation of "house to house" transport chains. They have the ability to utilise Information Technology in their professional work and are prepared to work in managerial positions in operation, design, and construction departments in business entities related to transport, logistics, and shipping.

All courses are taught in Szczecin on the premises of the University. The classes are conducted in laboratories equipped with the latest state-of-the-art simulation tools, as well as in specialised computer and design laboratories. These laboratories include the Logistics-Production Process Automation Laboratory, the VR Laboratory, the Decisions Support and Telematics Systems Laboratory, the Rapid Prototyping Laboratory, the Environmental Protection Laboratory, and the Commodity Science Laboratory. The Logistics-Production Process Automation Laboratory enables projects in the field of production and logistics process automation and the use of vision systems. The VR Laboratory, equipped with some of the most state-of-the-art technology, allows for the creation and display of interactive 3D visualisation. The Decisions Support and Telematics Systems Laboratory is based on modern telecommunication, IT and electronic technologies used in road transport systems for monitoring and identifying vehicles, safety analysis, and traffic flow improvement. The Rapid Prototyping Laboratory allows students to design and print objects using 3D printers. The Environmental Protection Laboratory enables the study of pollutants, as well as work stand conditions such as noise, luminous intensity, electromagnetic radiation, and air flow. Lastly, the Commodity Science Laboratory allows everyone to test the properties of commodities using physical and chemical methods, as well as instrumental and sensory methods, which are used in quality and safety control in production and transport practice.
