Medical University of Gdańsk (GUMed) – Faculty of Pharmacy

The Faculty of Pharmacy was established in 1945, and since its merger with the Subfaculty of Laboratory Medicine (est. 2001), it has operated as a unified educational and research body. The faculty provides high-quality Master of Science programs in Pharmacy and Laboratory Analytics, designed to meet European Union professional standards.

Academic Excellence and Accreditations

The faculty is recognized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as a leader among Poland's nine pharmaceutical faculties. It is the only institution on the Polish coast to hold the A+ category for scientific achievement. Additionally, it has been designated as a Leading National Research Centre (KNOW) in the field of medicine and health sciences by the Polish government.

Specialized and Doctoral Training

In addition to its expanding PhD programs, the faculty offers specialized professional training:

• Industrial Pharmacy: An elite three-semester program conducted in cooperation with the Medical University of Warsaw and Transpharmacia.
• Accredited Specializations: Authorized by the Ministry of Health to conduct specialty training in retail, hospital, and industrial pharmacy.

Research and Infrastructure

Research focuses on the design and manufacture of new synthetic and natural medications, innovative drug formulations, advanced physical and chemical analysis methods, and toxicological analysis.

Facilities include:

• 16 Departments and Laboratories.
• Medicinal Plant Garden and specialized Library.
• Training Pharmacy: One of Poland’s most modern facilities for training pharmacists in patient care principles and their role within the healthcare system.
