Engineering Management

The Master’s degree programme in Engineering Management at Poznan University of Technology is a comprehensive second-cycle programme designed for students who want to combine engineering knowledge with management, business, process management and the industrial practices of the future. The programme is offered by the Faculty of Engineering Management. It is a full-time programme taught in English and lasts 3 semesters. Graduates receive a Master of Science degree.

The Engineering Management master’s programme prepares students to manage enterprises of the future, evaluate technical and managerial decisions together and take active roles in international business environments. The programme combines an engineering perspective with strategic management, business planning, marketing, production management, quality management, human resources management, knowledge-based economy management and intelligent digital technologies.

One of the specializations offered in English is Managing Enterprise of the Future. This specialization helps students understand the challenges of future industry, the management of international companies and the operation of network corporations. Students learn how enterprises can be managed in a changing business world, how innovative technologies can be integrated into management and how strategies that strengthen competitiveness can be developed.

Another specialization is Enterprise Resource and Process Management. This specialization gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge from different areas of an enterprise, including strategic management, business planning, marketing, production management, quality management, knowledge-based economy management, intelligent digital technologies and human resources management. The programme prepares students to analyse business processes, use resources effectively and support managerial decisions with technical and organizational knowledge.

The programme places strong emphasis on international teamwork, intercultural adaptation and cooperation with academic staff from global academic centres. Students have the opportunity to work in international student teams, develop intercultural communication skills and become familiar with global approaches to management. They may also have the opportunity to obtain a double diploma from the IAE School of Management, University of Lille in France.

This programme is suitable for candidates with a background in engineering, business, management, production, technology management or related fields. Students are expected to have analytical thinking skills, an interest in management processes, the ability to connect technical and business issues, openness to teamwork and motivation to build a career in international business environments.

Graduates of the Engineering Management master’s programme at Poznan University of Technology may work in large and medium-sized enterprises, multinational corporations, production companies, technology firms, consulting organizations and management departments. They may pursue careers as middle or senior managers, process managers, project managers, production managers, quality managers, business development specialists, strategy specialists or entrepreneurs running their own businesses.
