The Bachelor’s Degree in Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction at Silesian University of Technology is an interdisciplinary engineering program designed for students who want to study modern mining, raw material extraction, mineral engineering, geology, environmental protection, industrial automation, occupational safety and industrial robotics. The program is suitable for students who plan to study engineering in Poland and build a career in the raw materials sector, mining technologies, geology, environmental management or industrial applications.
Modern mining is not limited to traditional open-pit, underground and offshore mining operations. Today, raw material extraction also includes projects related to resources from the sea and ocean floor, tunnel construction, post-industrial land reclamation, automation of production processes and minimization of environmental impact. For this reason, the program provides students with knowledge not only in raw material extraction and mining, but also in computer science, engineering graphics, law, environmental protection, economics, management and occupational safety.
During the program, students gain knowledge and skills in geology, raw material extraction, mineral engineering, geoengineering, mining and drilling technologies, mineral waste management, post-industrial land reclamation, industrial machinery, robotics, work safety, team management and independent economic activity. The use of computer-aided design in engineering graphics and engineering modelling is also an important part of the curriculum.
The program focuses on the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible extraction and processing of raw materials. Students learn about modern automation technologies, industrial applications and sustainable resource management, helping them approach technical, environmental and managerial challenges in the raw materials sector from an engineering perspective.
The program may include opportunities for practical training and internships, allowing students to gain their first professional experience alongside academic knowledge. According to the university’s information, students may gain practical experience in areas corresponding to their chosen study path, and this process may include joint projects, scientific research and industry-related practical activities.
Graduates may pursue careers in raw material extraction and processing, mineral waste management, mining and drilling technologies, geological and engineering works, post-industrial land redevelopment, industrial machinery, automotive industries, technical consultancy and environmentally responsible resource management.
This program is a strong option for students who want to study Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction at bachelor’s level in Poland, specialize in modern mining, raw material technologies, geology, environmental protection, industrial automation and sustainable resource management.
