The Geoengineering and Raw Materials Extraction program at Silesian University of Technology is an interdisciplinary engineering field designed for students who want to study raw material extraction, mining technologies, geology, mineral engineering, environmental protection, industrial machinery, occupational safety and industrial automation. During their studies, students gain knowledge and skills in geology, raw material extraction, mineral engineering, geoengineering, mining and drilling technologies, mineral waste management, post-industrial land reclamation, industrial machinery, robotics, work safety, team management and independent economic activity. The use of computer-aided design in engineering graphics and engineering modelling is also an important part of the curriculum.
The program focuses on the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible extraction and processing of raw materials. Students learn about modern automation technologies, industrial applications and sustainable resource management, helping them approach technical and environmental challenges in the raw materials sector from an engineering perspective.
