The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw is one of the most distinguished and oldest political science centers in Poland, offering a unique 3-year first-cycle degree (BA) full-time programme in International Relations. This innovative programme encourages creative thinking and is designed to broaden students' knowledge of the contemporary world in a multicultural environment.
The programme is taught in English and consists of six semesters with over 20 courses and a diploma seminar aimed at bachelor thesis preparation and individual focus. The first two semesters are dedicated to understanding International Relations and the introduction to the discipline, while the remaining four semesters offer elective courses taught by experienced academics from Poland and other European as well as non-European universities. The interdisciplinary approach of the programme is aimed at making students responsive to concerns in law, economics, history, and culture, as well as developing a deeper understanding of the workings of International Relations.
The central location of the University of Warsaw makes the Programme special as it provides students with easy access to academic and extra-curricular activities. Moreover, students have the opportunity to participate in open lectures held by well-known professors from around the world, and can also apply for a semester abroad in the framework of Erasmus+ Programme and bilateral agreements with universities worldwide. The programme also offers foreign language courses and physical education classes to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience.
Upon completing the programme, students obtain a bachelor degree (licencjat) recognized in the EU and internationally, and can choose to continue their education at the master's level or pursue a professional career. Graduates of the programme can find employment in international organizations, international business, public administration (especially foreign service and ministries), or the non-governmental sector.
