The Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw offers a Master's program in International Economics. The program is a second-cycle full-time course with an academic educational profile, taught entirely in English. The program aims to provide students with advanced knowledge of international economic relations, as well as the tools necessary to analyze and understand global economic trends and issues.
Candidates who wish to apply for the program must hold a bachelor's, engineering, master's degree, or equivalent degree from any field of study. They must also provide a Research Experience Letter, which describes their experiences related to the field of study they are applying to, confirmed by project supervisors. A minimum of two projects should be presented. The document should include a description of the projects, the nature of the candidate's participation, data and supervisor function of each project, and confirmation by the project supervisor(s) with the signature/stamp of the data contained.
Candidates should also present a transcript of records for the relevant cycle of studies, such as a diploma supplement from the EU or the equivalent in other countries. The ranking points are the sum of the following elements: the Research Experience Letter and the points awarded for subjects completed during previous studies. The Research Experience Letter can give a maximum of 30 points, and the candidate can receive a maximum of 10 points for each subject completed during previous studies. The final grade obtained from the subject and the 'research university' status of the institution issuing the diploma in the year of recruitment for studies at the University of Warsaw are taken into consideration.
During the verification process, the Admission Committee takes into account certain subjects, and the candidate can choose a maximum of seven subjects. These subjects include microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematical statistics, probability calculus, econometrics, mathematical analysis, international economic relations, and another economic subject. The candidate must indicate the number of ECTS points from the selected subject, the obtained grade, and the scale of grades. The subject indicated by the candidate must have a minimum of three ECTS points or 30 hours of classes.
Before completing the registration procedure, the candidate must attach syllabuses of selected subjects or another document, confirming the substantive content of the subject, confirmed by the university. In addition, candidates are required to submit a document recognized by the University of Warsaw, confirming their proficiency in English at least on B2 level.
