Offered by the Faculty of "Artes Liberales" and the Centre of Migration Research at the University of Warsaw, the ISSC program provides a comprehensive understanding of the sociocultural challenges facing modern societies. Focusing on Poland, the Mediterranean, and European borderlands, this program prepares students for both advanced academic careers and a dynamic international job market.

Thematic Scope and Curriculum

The program is structured around three main thematic paths and two language tracks (Italian and Spanish). It covers a wide array of contemporary and future issues:

• Risks and Crises: Climate catastrophes, global economic shifts, pandemics, and hybrid warfare.
• Mobility and Identity: Mass migrations, social mobility, changing identities, and demographic aging.
• Governance and Institutions: Quality of democracy, the authority of science in a post-truth culture, and the impact of digitalization and automation on labor.
• Social Change: The role of philosophy and knowledge in revolutions and the evolution of social standards.

Individualized Learning and Language Module

ISSC offers a highly personalized experience, allowing students to tailor their learning through a selection of workshops, lectures, and monographic discussion sessions. A mandatory language-culture module provides courses in Italian, Spanish, and English, enhancing intercultural communication skills and global awareness.

Research Methodology and Practical Skills

Emphasis is placed on methodological discipline, equipping students with both qualitative and quantitative research tools specific to sociology, political science, and economics:
