The Bachelor’s Degree in Control, Electronic and Information Engineering at Silesian University of Technologyis an interdisciplinary engineering program designed for students who want to study automatic control, electronics, computer science, software development, communication technologies and information systems. The program is suitable for students who plan to study engineering in Poland and build a career in technology, software, electronics, control systems or telecommunications.
The program is offered by the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science. According to the university’s information, the faculty has offered English-taught courses since 1997, and since 2001 it has provided full-time study programs conducted entirely in English, leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
During the first semesters, students gain a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, fundamentals of computer science and basic technical sciences. The curriculum includes areas such as electrical engineering, control theory, electronics, metrology, computer programming, microprocessor systems, databases, computer networks, artificial intelligence and computer vision systems. The program focuses not only on theoretical knowledge, but also on solving practical engineering problems and integrating knowledge from different technical fields.
The bachelor’s program aims to develop students’ teamwork, leadership, research, design, problem-solving and technical decision-making skills. After completing the first five semesters, students choose a specialization according to their interests and continue their education in one of the main fields: automatic control, electronics and telecommunication, or informatics.
In Automatic Control, students study the design, tuning and management of control systems, industrial robotics systems, autonomous systems, embedded systems, microcontroller-based systems, automation of technological processes, robotics and mobile systems. This path provides engineering skills that can be used in areas such as the automotive industry, chemical industry, biotechnology, intelligent buildings, drones and industrial control systems.
In Informatics, students gain knowledge and skills in advanced computer systems, software development, operating systems, compilers, concurrent programming, computer graphics, computer vision, databases, data warehouses, computer networks, digital modelling, simulation, optimization and specialized engineering software. Graduates may work as software developers, database specialists, system developers, network and system maintenance specialists or engineers involved in technology projects.
In Electronics and Telecommunication, students study analogue and digital circuit design, computer-aided electronic circuit design, programmable logic devices, wireless computer networks, computer system security, radio communication, optoelectronics and microelectronics. This path is suitable for students interested in electronic system design, hardware and software-based communication, measurement systems, control systems and medical equipment technologies.
Graduates may pursue careers in control system design, software development, hardware development, database administration, computer networks, system maintenance, electronic circuit design, telecommunication technologies, measurement systems, robotics, embedded systems, research and development, and technology management. According to the university’s program information, graduates are prepared as engineers capable of solving technical problems in automatic control, information technology, electronics and telecommunication.
This program is a strong option for students who want to study Control, Electronic and Information Engineering at bachelor’s level in Poland, gain English-taught engineering education in Europe and develop technical expertise in software, electronics, automation, robotics or communication technologies.
