Civil Engineering

The Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Silesian University of Technology is an English-taught second-cycle program designed for students who want to develop advanced knowledge in structural engineering, bridges, geotechnics, industrial structures and modern construction technologies. The program is suitable for students who plan to study civil engineering at master’s level in Poland and pursue careers in structural design, research, project development, technical analysis or specialized engineering fields.

The program is offered as full-time studies and lasts 3 semesters / 1.5 years. Graduates receive the title of Master of Science in Engineering. According to the university’s official curriculum information, the program includes 90 ECTS credits. Admission to the second-cycle program is intended for candidates who have completed first-cycle studies in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.

Offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Silesian University of Technology, the program aims to extend the engineering knowledge gained during bachelor’s studies. Civil and Industrial Structures focuses on structural systems, design of civil and industrial buildings, assessment of load-bearing structures and engineering solutions related to structural safety. This profile is suitable for students interested in design offices, construction projects and structural engineering consultancy.

Geotechnics covers soil behavior, geotechnical analysis, foundation systems, underground structures and soil-structure interaction. This profile is important for students who want to understand how ground conditions affect structural safety and engineering design.

Bridges focuses on bridge structures, transport infrastructure, load-bearing systems, bridge design, maintenance, strengthening and engineering assessment. This profile is suitable for students who want to specialize in infrastructure and transport-related structures.

Graduates may pursue careers in structural design offices, research centers, construction and infrastructure companies, technical consulting firms, public or private project units, geotechnical engineering, bridge projects and industrial structure design.
