The Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences offers a Bachelor's degree program in Bioeconomy, which provides students with a comprehensive education in the principles and practices of bioeconomy, including biorenewable systems, sustainable development, and responsible business practices. The program is designed to meet the needs of the ever-growing bioindustry market, providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills to establish and run companies and start-ups, work in biorefineries and research and development centers, and contribute to the production, storage, transport, and distribution of bioproducts.
Over the course of seven semesters, students will learn a range of subjects, including economics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, microbiology, bioorganic chemistry, bioproducts processing, and sustainable cities. Additionally, the program features semester projects directly connected to the needs of the industry, and a four-week industrial practice in production plants, institutions, and laboratories involved in the bioindustry, which allows students to develop practical skills and gain valuable work experience. The program also includes specialized subjects such as sustainable water management, quality management and auditing, logistics, and environmental data analysis, and students will have the opportunity to learn about the methods and principles of operation of artificial intelligence.
Upon graduation, students will receive 210 ECTS points and will be well-prepared for the current demand on the labor market. Graduates can work in a variety of fields, including the bio-industry sector, analytical, research and diagnostic laboratories, non-governmental organizations dealing with bioeconomy, and enterprises involved in the production, storage, transport, and distribution of bioproducts. Additionally, graduates will have the ability to select materials and devices suitable for technologies employed in bioeconomy and know the techniques of graphic and computer design and use GIS tools used in bioeconomy.
