Artificial Intelligence

The Bachelor’s degree programme in Artificial Intelligence at Poznan University of Technology is a modern programme that combines computer science, algorithms, machine learning, neural networks, data analysis and robotics applications. The programme is offered by the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications. It is a full-time first-cycle programme taught in English and lasts 7 semesters. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree.

The Artificial Intelligence programme is designed for students who want to understand and develop systems capable of learning, reasoning, making decisions and processing information from their environment. The programme focuses on technologies inspired by the way humans use their nervous system and bodies to feel, learn, infer and make decisions. Students learn how models of intelligent behaviour are created, how computer systems learn from data and how artificial intelligence methods can be applied to real-world problems.

The curriculum provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills in algorithms, machine learning, neural networks, data analysis, data exploration, information acquisition and processing, optimization techniques, decision analysis and the application of artificial intelligence in robotics. The study process helps students build a strong foundation in computer science while developing the ability to use artificial intelligence solutions in different sectors.

Artificial Intelligence education is not limited to software development. Students also develop mathematical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, model development and intelligent system design skills. As a result, graduates are prepared to work with intelligent software, data-based systems, robotics applications, decision-support systems and organizations that use modern smart technologies.

This programme is suitable for candidates with very good results in mathematics, an interest in computing and related fields, and the ability to think logically. Students are expected to have analytical skills, an interest in programming and data, the ability to understand abstract concepts and the motivation to develop themselves in the technology sector.

Internships are an important part of the study experience. Students complete a mandatory 4-week professional internship after the third year of study. They may also have the opportunity to carry out international internships and traineeships through Erasmus+, EUNICE and IAESTE programmes. These experiences help students apply their university knowledge in real technology and research environments.

Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence programme at Poznan University of Technology may work in national and international information technology companies, research and development centres, and institutions or enterprises using modern smart technologies. They may pursue careers as artificial intelligence specialists, machine learning engineers, data analysts, software developers, robotics application developers, decision-support systems specialists or research and development engineers.
