Artificial Intelligence

The Master’s degree programme in Artificial Intelligence at Poznan University of Technology is an advanced second-cycle programme designed for students who want to gain specialist knowledge in computer science, machine learning, data analysis, intelligent systems and modern artificial intelligence technologies. The programme is offered by the Faculty of Computing and Telecommunications. It is a full-time second-cycle programme taught in English and lasts 3 semesters. Graduates receive a Master of Science degree.

Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science focused on the development of technologies inspired by the way humans learn, reason, make decisions and perceive their environment. This programme helps students understand intelligent behaviour models, data-driven decision systems and learning-based software solutions at an advanced level. Students learn not only the theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence but also how these methods can be applied to real research and business problems.

During the programme, students expand their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in key areas of artificial intelligence. The curriculum covers machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, data analysis, data processing, information extraction, decision-support systems, optimization methods, intelligent algorithms and various applications of artificial intelligence. The study process prepares students to follow current scientific developments, understand research trends and develop solutions for complex technological challenges.

The programme strengthens students’ background in computer science while developing their applied competences in artificial intelligence. Students may specialize in designing intelligent software systems, analysing large datasets, creating prediction and classification models, developing algorithmic solutions and building artificial intelligence applications for modern technology environments.

This programme is suitable for candidates with a background in computer science, software engineering, data science, mathematics or related technical fields who want to develop advanced knowledge in artificial intelligence. Students are expected to have logical and analytical thinking skills, an interest in programming and data, the ability to understand abstract concepts and the motivation to grow in a rapidly developing technology field.

There is no mandatory vocational internship in this programme. However, students may have the opportunity to complete internships and traineeships abroad through Erasmus+, EUNICE and IAESTE programmes. These opportunities help students gain international experience, explore different research and technology environments and develop professional contacts.

Graduates of the Artificial Intelligence master’s programme at Poznan University of Technology may work in national and international information technology companies, research and development centres, institutions using smart technologies and innovative technology enterprises.
