    TUL is one of the biggest and the most recognizable state universities in Poland. There are over 22 000 students enrolled. The high quality of studies and student exchange at TUL has been certified by the European Commission. Since 2009, TUL is the only Polish university and one of the 28 European universities which received prestigious ECTS Label in recognition of our quality studies and international exchange. The University is the only tertiary education institution from Lodz in national top ten in the  both “Rzeczpospolita” newspaper and “Perspektywy” magazine university rankings. TUL is the ninth best university in Poland and the fourth best technical university.

    TUL is the only university in Poland with so many well-organised study programmes taught in foreign languages. International Faculty of Engineering (IFE),  a unit of TUL offers programmes taught entirely in English and in French. Due to its growing potential, IFE makes the best use of international cooperation, participating in EU programmes as Socrates, LLP Erasmus, Campus Europae and Tempus.

    The academic staff of TUL put the major emphasis on internationalization of education and improving its quality. The cooperation of TUL with foreign universities, research centres and industry began with establishing the University. Nowadays University cooperates with over 300 academic centers from 40 countries. TUL takes first position among Polish technical universities in students practical placement exchange under the Erasmus programme.

     

    TUL prides itself on unique, bustling campus which covers the area of about 32 hectares. It has its own park, a few historic 19th century villas and revitalised factory buildings adjusted to the needs of the university. There are canteens, students clubs, art galleries and concert hall. Nine dormitories provide residence for 3000 students.
