The English Studies - Linguistics program is a second-cycle full-time course that offers a multidisciplinary approach to the study of linguistics, literature, history, and culture of the Anglophone countries. Students are given an overview of the different subjects within the domain of English studies, with a focus on linguistics. The program is designed to help students develop their language skills and expose them to different topics within linguistics, such as language diversity, communication in different contexts, and language modeling for AI, among others.
The admission requirements for Polish and foreign students are the same. Candidates must hold a bachelor's or master's degree or an equivalent in any field of study. They must also take an entrance exam that checks their preparation for second-cycle studies in English philology. The test exam is in English and consists of three parts: British literature and culture, American literature and culture, and theoretical and applied linguistics. The candidate chooses one part, and the maximum amount of points in each part is 100. The qualification threshold is 60 points (60%). Candidates with foreign diplomas are also required to take an additional exam to check their competence to undertake studies conducted in the English language.
